Deontay Wilder returned to his winning ways on Saturday night. After suffering a draw against Tyson Fury in December, Wilder wasted no time in dispatching Dominic Breazeale on Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

He knocked out Breazeale with one punch with 17 seconds left in the first round. Breazeale was able to get up from the 10 count; however, he was in no condition to continue.

The 33-year-old Tuscaloosa, Alabama native improved to 41-0-1 in his boxing career.

This is Wilder’s first knockout in the first round since he defeated Bermane Stiverne on Nov. 4, 2017. That fight was also at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

In addition, this is his ninth title defense of his WBC heavyweight title. He won the WBC heavyweight title against Stiverne on Jan. 17, 2015 in at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Forty of Wilder’s 41 wins have come via knockout. The only fight that was not a knockout was the unanimous decision win over Stiverne in 2015.

The 33-year-old Glendale, California native suffered his second loss of his career. He dropped to 20-2 in his career.

This loss to Wilder snapped his three-fight win streak. He defeated Izu Ugonoh, Éric Molina, and Carlos Negrón during the win streak before the first-round knockout to Wilder.

Breazeale suffered his second knockout of his career against Wilder. The first knockout of his career came against Anthony Joshua by TKO in the seventh-round of their June 25, 2016 fight at The O2 Arena in London, England.

Both of the losses against Wilder and Joshua were title bouts. Besides losing the WBC Heavyweight title against Wilder, he also lost a chance for the IBF Heavyweight title against Joshua.

Samoa Joe defeated AJ Styles by disqualification. However, like The Bludgeon Brothers, who was also disqualified, Styles retained his WWE Championship.

Smackdown Live 8/22 results

By Anthony Caruso III | Publisher

The WWE Smackdown Live show on Tuesday, August, 22, 2017, took place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. It also saw the debut of Bobby Roode, who lost his NXT Championship to Drew McIntyre on Saturday night.

Roode defeated Aiden English. Roode used the Glorious DDT to get the pinfall win.

The Usos, who won the Smackdown Live Tag Team Championship belts on Sunday against The New Day, defeated Hype Bros. Jimmy Uso hit Zack Ryder with a superkick to get the win.

Then, in a handicap match, Shinsuke Nakamura defeated The Singh Brothers. Nakamura got one of the brothers to tap out, before Jinder Mahal jumped Nakamura.

Instead of being triple-teamed, Nakamura got the edge and hit Mahal with the Kinshasa.

Naomi and Becky Lynch defeated Carmella and Natalya. Instead of cashing in the Money in the Bank briefcase, Natalya attacked Carmella after losing her patience with her tag team partner.

While Nattie was outside of the ring, Naomi, who lost the belt on Sunday at SummerSlam to Nattie, hit the split-legged moonsault on Carmella for the win.

Then, in the main event, AJ Styles defeated Kevin Owens. This is reportedly was the last time that Owens could face Styles while he was the United States Champion.

Baron Corbin was initially the special guest referee. However, Shane McMahon was displeased with his efforts and caused Corbin to leave the scene after throwing his referee shirt at McMahon.

McMahon saw Owens hit Styles with a low blow and stopped Corbin from counting a three-count. McMahon then put on the shirt and continued the match. Styles would hit The Phenomenal Forearm and got the win to keep his belt.

Monday Night Raw Houston results 8-29-16

By Anthony Caruso III
Publisher

On Monday Night Raw from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, it began with Roman Reigns, Kevin Owens, Big Cass and Seth Rollins talking in the ring with Corey Graves as the mediator. The WWE Universal Championship was in the middle and Big Cass said he is new here – being here for only a few months – but he has nothing to lose.

He also says that size does matter, before Rollins gets mad. He says he’s glad that it’s elimination rules, so after he eliminates Big Cass and Owens, he’ll get his hands on Reigns.

Reigns unloads on Owens, then Rollins goes after Big Cass. Cass and Reigns have a stare down, before he gets pushed out of the ring.

Reigns gives a superman punch to Rollins, then he looks at the belt.

Neville and Chris Jericho were the first match of the show. Jericho won via submission with the Lion Tamer.

In a pre-recorded segment, Bayley walks backstage and hugs a random guy, before running into The New Day. After talking for a bit, they were then interrupted by Dana Brooke. Brooke says she wasn’t ready after losing to Bayley last Monday.

Then, after getting mad, she claimed that she was going to get Gallows and Anderson. At the end of the segment, Bayley trolled Brooke.

Nia Jax then easily dispatched a Houston-based local wrestler.

Gallows and Anderson says they now work in the retirement business. They called The Dudley Boyz, who they say they retired last week ‘old farts.’ That was before they introduced Brooke as their nurse.

Sami Zayn then put in a gusty performance by defeating Jinder Mahal. Zayn injured his ankle last week on Raw.

The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Big E) were teammates with Bayley in the mixed tag team match against Brooke, Anderson and Gallows. However, for the second week in a row, Bayley pinned Brooke for the win.

Sheamus defeated Cesaro via submission with the Clover Leaf. The Irish man takes a 2-0 lead against the Switzerland-born wrestler in their Best of 7 series.

Braun Strowman defeated Américo. After Strowman won, he then took the mast off of Américo, which is disrespectful to the Lucha Libré competitor.

Stephanie McMahon comes out to address the situation with Brock Lesnar. Her brother Shane McMahon received an F5 from Lesnar at SummerSlam at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Paul Heyman, Lesnar’s advocate, tried to pay McMahon with $1 to reach the $500 fine, which Lesnar was fined last week for his actions. She was pissed and said that the storm is coming his way.

However, Heyman said that the storm is Lesnar, which McMahon didn’t like to hear.

Darren Young defeated his former PrimeTime Player teammate Titus O’Neil. As Young was celebrating in the ring with his manager Bob Backlund, O’Neil wasn’t pleased and attacked Young.

In the Fatal Fourway elimination match, Big Cass was eliminated first by Owens. Then, out of nowhere, Triple H appears to pedigree Reigns. Then, he tells Rollins to get up and pin his former Shield teammate, which he did.

Everyone in attendance thought that Triple H was going to give Rollins the belt. Rollins was a puppet for The Authority for nearly two-years. Then, in a surprising move, Triple H turned on Rollins, before telling a shocked Owens to pin Rollins for the win.

Triple H then handed the WWE Universal Championship to Owens. Owens then celebrated in the ring.

UFC President Dana White denies Brock Lesnar, UFC 200 rumors

By Anthony Caruso III
Publisher

According to UFC President Dana White, World Wrestling Entertainment Superstar Brock Lesnar will not be competing at UFC 200, the biggest pay-per-view in the company’s history. He adamantly said that Lesnar will not be competing in an ESPN interview.

White said to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, Lesnar “had a good run” but is under contract with the World Wrestling Entertainment.

“Trust me they noticed it, too” White said. “He’s under contract with the WWE. So, when you talk to my UFC.com people, they gave me a wacky explanation on why that happened. We’re building a database with every fighter that ever fought in the UFC.

“And for some reason, there was a story connected for a fight at UFC 200. Brock was at UFC 100 — and trust me, the WWE lawyers called and Lesnar’s lawyers called. Everyone went crazy over that thing. We’ll get that down ASAP, and that’s the story.”

Okamoto then asked if we’re going to see Lesnar back in the Octagon anytime soon.

“He had a great run here,” White said. “He retired, I think, at the right time. Now, he’s with the WWE. When he signed that deal, I felt like that was the right thing to do.”

Lesnar hasn’t fought since WrestleMania 32 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas in April. He defeated Dean Ambrose at a No Holds Barred Streetfight.

Since this fight with Ambrose, he hasn’t fought. There’s speculation that he might not fight in the WWE again until SummerSlam at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. Again, that’s only speculation right now.

He last fought in the UFC in Dec. 2011 when he lost to Alistair Overeem at UFC 141. He lost that fight via TKO, before returning to the WWE.

Brock Lesnar to fight at UFC 200

By Anthony Caruso III
Publisher

According to MMAFighting.com‘s Ariel Helwani, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is close to reaching an agreement with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Superstar Brock Lesnar. The 38-year-old is expected to fight at UFC 200, the biggest pay-per-view in the history of the company.

Lesnar hasn’t fought in the company since Dec. 2011 when he lost to Alistair Overeem at UFC 141. He lost to Overeem via TKO, then went back to the WWE.

He has a 5-3 MMA record. Lesnar was also recently added to the UFC website, which had speculation that he would be coming back. He also appeared at UFC 100.

Lesnar, whose known for his ‘Suplex City B*itch,’ last fought at WrestleMania 32 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. He defeated Dean Ambrose in a No Holds Barred Streetfight.

While there’s been speculation that Lesnar would return to the Octagon, there’s also speculation that Lesnar won’t return until August at SummerSlam at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. If this is true, then it would give him the time to train for a UFC return.

He’s a four-time World Heavyweight Champion within the WWE. He last held that belt leading up to WrestleMania 31 at Levi Stadium when he lost the belt after Seth Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase — and ultimately won the belt.

Lesnar was also a two-time UFC heavyweight champion from 2008-2010. He also had two title defenses.

It’s unclear how this all came about since he’s still under contract with the WWE. Previously, Ronda Rousey appeared at a WrestleMania, but she did not fight.

It’s also unclear who Lesnar will be fighting on July 9.
