The Denver Nuggets already have their next General Manager in mind. According to The Athletic’s Shams Charanina, the Nuggets will promote Calvin Booth to the GM role.
Booth — a former NBA player, who spent 10-years in the league — will replace Artūras Karnišovas, who was previously the Nuggets General Manager. Karnišovas is now the Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations with the Chicago Bulls.
The 43-year-old joined the Nuggets front office in 2017 as their assistant general manager. He also served one season as the Minnesota Timberwolves Director of Player Personnel before joining the Nuggets.
After his playing career came to an end, he joined the New Orleans Pelicans as a scout during the 2012-13 season.
During his NBA career, he played for a lot of teams, as he played for the Washington Wizards, Dallas Mavericks, Seattle SuperSonics, Milwaukee Bucks, Philadelphia 76ers, Timberwolves, and the Sacramento Kings. He played in the Association from 1999 through 2009.
In his career, including 366 games and 83 starts, he averaged 3.3 points per game. He also averaged 2.8 rebounds, 0.4 assists, 0.3 steals, and 0.9 blocks per game in 12.2 minutes per game.
