Beno Udrih has season-ending surgery

Beno Udrih, who was acquired by the Miami Heat in November from the Memphis Grizzlies, will miss the rest of the season. He underwent season-ending surgery on his right foot, according to Yahoo Sports.

He underwent an MRI earlier today before having the surgery. This is more bad news for the Heat. It’s the second Heat guard to be lost for the rest of the season.

Tyler Johnson had shoulder surgery early this month.

The team is also currently without Chris Bosh, who is dealing with serious health problems right now. He had a health scare in his calf, which may be from a blood clot issue that cost him the latter part of last season. He even missed participating in All-Star weekend at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto because of this problem.

Bosh’s life was on the line last year. However, this issue is not expected to be that bad – but he’s still missing games, as the Heat must continue on without him.

Udrih, whose 33-years-old and was acquired in the Grizzlies and Heat trade from Nov. when Mario Chalmers was sent packing. He was backing-up Goran Dragić and was averaging 4.4 points and 2.5 assists per game.

The veteran has bounced around in his 12-year NBA career. He’s played for the San Antonio Spurs, Sacramento Kings, Milwaukee Bucks, Orlando Magic, New York Knicks, Grizzles and the Heat. He has a career average of 8.5 points and 3.4 assists per game.

Udrih and Jarnell Stokes was traded to the Heat on Nov. 10, 2015 for Chalmers and James Ennis. The Grizzlies also reportedly included Jon Leuer’s trade exception to make it work.

On Friday, LeBron James decided to leave the Miami Heat for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Many thought it would be a mass exit for the other free agents as well.

However, that has not been the case. Free agent Mario Chalmers is the latest to stay put.

Chris Bosh and Chris Andersen also re-signed deals with the Heat. They are also expected to re-sign Udonis Haslem and Dwyane Wade this week.

“Proud to stay I’m back [with] the Heat,” Chalmers wrote on Twitter. “Heat nation we still here.”

The 28-year-old is expected to keep his starting point guard role with Norris Cole and Shabazz Napier backing up. If teams are able to make him struggle like the San Antonio Spurs did in the NBA Finals, Napier will be named the starter.

Chalmers has been with the Heat for the past six years. In his career, he has averaged less than 10 points a season.

It was thought after the loss in the NBA Finals that Chalmers would leave town. As players decided to go elsewhere, the Heat had to re-sign their point guard for the next several years.

ESPN First Take debater Skip Bayless has been extra critical of Miami Heat superstar LeBron James.

Bayless has had a dislike for James for quite some time. It has been going on for years.

To make the show better, fellow First Take debater Stephen A. Smith is a big fan of James and the Heat. Smith will now have to eat crow, as he picked the Heat to win the series, as did Lil Wayne and other athletes.

It will be interesting to see what happens on tomorrow’s First Take.

After the Heat loss to the San Antonio Spurs in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, Bayless went off on Twitter.

Before the NBA Finals started, Bayless said that the Spurs were going to win the series in 6 games. He was a little short, as the Spurs needed one less game.

In one of his tweet’s he said James faded in the past three games. Yet, he led his team in scoring all three games.

Marco Bellinelli scored 4 points, while Tiago Splitter scored 3 points. Jeff Ayres and Aron Baynes chipped in 2 points.

They had 16 fast break points and 32 points in the paint. The Spurs also scored 8 points off of 8 turnovers.

The Heat were led by James, who had 31 points. This was his third NBA Finals loss in his career.

Bosh scored 13 points with Wade chipping in 11 points. The rest of their starting lineup had 8 points, as Rashard Lewis scored 3 points and Allen, who started as the point guard in place of Mario Chalmers, had five points.

Michael Beasley scored 9 points and Chalmers had 8 points. Toney Douglas had 3 points, while Udonis Haslem and Norris Cole had 2 points.
