The loss also eliminated the Crimson Tide from the SEC Championship at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia in December. The Tigers will be taking the Crimson Tide’s spot in the game now vs. an SEC East team, possibly the Georgia Bulldogs.

Plus, in terms of the College Football Playoff, the Crimson Tide needs a miracle to find themselves back into the Top 4. The College Football Playoff will have to determine of a one-loss SEC team is better than other one-loss teams around the country, who may end up winning their conference championship.

The Committee will make their decision known on Sunday, December 8th.

Tigers’ Michael Divinity Jr. leaves team

By Anthony Caruso III | Publisher

The LSU Tigers are in their biggest week of the season. This is their week that they face the Alabama Crimson Tide.

One player will be missing from the Tigers lineup. Starting linebacker Michael Divinity Jr. has been removed from the team.

The Athletic reported on Monday that his name plate has already been removed from his locker. He left the team due to person reasons.

The Tigers travel to Tuscaloosa, Alabama for the 3:30 pm kickoff on CBS. In addition, this heavyweight bout features two undefeated 8-0 teams that are also No. 1 and No. 2 in the standings.

LSU will have an attempt to lessen the blow without Divinity Jr. in the next several days before the contest. The team has already played without him this season, as he missed three games during the season.

It does put head coach Ed Orgeron and defensive coordinator Dave Aranda in a tough spot. The team will attempt to use their depth or defensive schemes to allow his former teammates to step up.

Divinity Jr. had 23 tackles when he did see action. He also had four tackles for a loss and three sacks.
