Smackdown Live’s No Mercy results 10-9-16

By Anthony Caruso III | Publisher

At the No Mercy pay-per-view from the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, Ca., in front of 14,324 in attendance, A.J. Styles retained his belt over Dean Ambrose and John Cena in a Triple Threat match for the WWE World Championship.

This match would normally be the main event at any other pay-per-view. However, since the show started an hour before the Presidential Debate, the World Wrestling Entertainment made the decision to lead it off instead of going up against the Debate.

Nikki Bella defeated Carmella, then Heath Slater and Rhyno retained their WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship belts over The Usos.

Baron Corbin defeated Jack Swagger. Dolph Ziggler then won the Title vs. Career match over The Miz, as early indications were that Ziggler was going to lose then come back later as a new character.

However, that will not happen as Ziggler became the WWE Intercontinental Champion for the fifth time in his career.

After an injury to Becky Lynch meant she could not perform, Naomi stepped in and defeated Alexa Bliss. Then, Bray Wyatt defeated Randy Orton. Luke Harper returned to help his Wyatt Family leader.

In a dark match before the pay-per-view started, American Alpha and The Hype Bros defeated The Ascension and The VaudeVillians.

WWE Superstars taping results 2/1/2016

On the WWE Superstars taping from the Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama, there were only two matches. This show was taped before Monday Night Raw.

The show began when Jack Swagger and Mark Henry defeated The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor). Swagger and Henry won the match by submission.

Since Dec. 28th, 2015, at a WWE Superstars taping, Swagger and Henry have defeated The Ascension four times. Besides tonight’s match, they won three straight from Dec. 28th, 2015 to Jan. 19th, 2016.

The two also won the Fatal Fourway match before the start of the Royal Rumble from Orlando, Fla. With the win, they were able to enter into the Royal Rumble, which Triple H was able to win. They had to defeat The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray Dudley and D-Von Dudley), Damien Sandow and Darren Young along with The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor).

Also, on this taping, Stardust defeated Zack Ryder by pinball. This is Stardust/Cody Rhodes tenth straight win over Ryder.

Ryder hasn’t defeated Rhodes since January 20th, 2013 when he won at WWE Live (RAW). He also defeated Rhodes the night before, as well, on Jan. 19th.

Eight of the ten wins have come by Stardust.

Stardust defeated Darren Young on Superstars from the AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami last week.

Mark Henry, Jack Swagger wins Royal Rumble spots

In not a surprise, Jack Swagger and Mark Henry has won the Fatal Fourway match in the Royal Rumble pay-per-view pre-show from the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida.

Henry hit his splash move for the win. Both Swagger and Henry receive a spot in the battle royal to end the show.

Henry and Swagger had to go through The Ascension (Viktor and Konnor) and The Dudley Boyz — two traditional tag teams — and Darren Young and Damien Sandow, who were put together for this match. Young is normally teamed with Titus O’Neal, who make up The PrimeTime Players.

Both Henry and Swagger have been advertised for the match before this match, that’s why it wasn’t surprising.

Henry — who said that this could be his final Royal Rumble — said a few weeks ago that he would be the first entrant into the rumble. However, the company made him recant that shortly thereafter.

They then made him win this match to get the final spots in tonight’s main event.

Since they already wrestled, it’ll be interested to see where they enter the battle. They may enter towards the middle or towards the end as an effort to give these men an opportunity to rest.

WWE spoilers from the third and final day of the Abu Dhabi trip

By Anthony Caruso III on February 14, 2015, 11:18 PM EST

Today, the WWE hosted their final show from the Zayed Sports City Tennis Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The attendance for this event is not known.

Dolph Ziggler and Ryback were a tag team against Luke Harper and Tyson Kidd. Ziggler and Ryback would win after a pinfall.

This was the first time since Feb. 3rd that Ziggler and Ryback were a team, as they defeated Goldust and Stardust on the Smackdown! taping.

In an “Over The Top Rope” match, Erick Rowan defeated Curtis Axel. This is the third time that Rowan defeated Axel, as he also won on the Jan. 29th Main Event taping, and WWE Live on Dec. 20th from Canada.

Sami Zayn defeated Bo Dallas. Zayn has won the past two matches after Dallas won five straight against him.

Two former Shield members fought next, as Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins would go after each other. Ambrose would win with a pinfall.

This was the first time that Ambrose defeated Rollins in a single’s match singe November 6th in a street fight at WWE Live from the United Kingdom.

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods of The New Day defeated Goldust and Stardust. This was the third straight loss for Goldust and Stardust on the trip.

They lost to Big E and Xavier Woods on Friday and Big E and Kofi Kingston on Thursday.

In fact, the odd couple, who are actually brothers, haven’t won a match since Jan. 12th at a WWE Superstars taping when they teamed with Fandango against Diego and Fernando of Los Matadors and Justin Gabriel, who is no longer with the WWE.

The last time they won as a tag team was December 2nd when they defeated Adam Rose & The Bunny.

Rusev, who has yet to lose in the WWE, escaped with a submission win over Jack Swagger to keep his WWE United States Championship. Rusev is now 27-0 against Swagger.

Bad News Barrett was disqualified in the final match against John Cena for the WWE Intercontinential Championship.

WWE spoilers from the second day of the Abu Dhabi trip

By Anthony Caruso III on February 14, 2015, 1:53 AM EST

Yesterday, the World Wrestling Entertainment had their second event at the Zayed Sports City Tennis Stadium in Abu Dhabi. It is unkown how many people were in attendance.

The show was one of three events held at the facility by the WWE Superstars. The held a show on Thursday and will also have one today.

In Friday’s event, there were seven matches. It is also reportedly the first time since 2012 that the WWE traveled to this country.

The beginning match saw Big E and Xavier Woods of The New Day defeat Goldust and Stardust. It is not known if Stardust walked out on his brother again, which is expected to set up a WrestleMania match between the brothers.

Erick Rowan defeated Bo Dallas by pinfall.

In an “Over The Top Rope” match, Ryback defeated Curtis Axel. Ryback also defeated Axel via a pinfall in Day 1 of the Abu Dhabi trip.

This was the first time that the former teammates faced each other in single’s match since December 2014. Ryback won all five matches in that month, while Axel has never beaten Ryback in a single’s match.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Seth Rollins via pinfall. It is likely that J&J Security was with Rollins, but we do not know if they’ve interfered in the match.

Sami Zayn, who lost his NXT Championship to Kevin Owens recently, defeated Tyson Kidd.

Bad News Barrett faced Jack Swagger and Kofi Kingston in a three-way match for the WWE Intercontinential Championship. Barrett would retain his belt with a pinfall victory.

Dean Ambrose and John Cena defeated Luke Harper and Rusev. It was the first time that these tag teams have faced each other.

Since September 2014, Ambrose and Cena has lost only once during the past few months. That was in an October 20th handicap match when Kane, Randy Orton, and Rollins defeated Ambrose and Cena.

Prior to this match, Ambrose and Cena faced Bray Wyatt and Rollins on January 29th on Smackdown! Live and November 17th at Monday Night Raw.

Jack Swagger has defeated Cesaro in the dark match leading up to WWE Survivor Series at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri. This match only lasted 5 minutes and 34 seconds.

Swagger put Cesaro in the ankle lock, before eventually tapping out. This is the first time that Swagger defeated Cesaro in a one-on-one match since August 11th.

At the Hulk Hogan’s Birthday Celebration, Swagger also defeated Cesaro by submission.

This year, Cesaro holds the advantage over Swagger in one-on-one matches. Swagger only has three wins.

Cesaro on the other has 5 wins with his last win coming on WWE Main Event on September 30th.

In the other related dark match, Fandango defeated Justin Gabriel in a match that lasted 3 minutes and 18 seconds.

WWE Live returns to the Sun National Bank Center in a month

On October 4th, the World Wrestling Entertainment is scheduled to return to the Sun National Bank Center with a 7:30 pm start. Tickets for the event can be bought for between $15 through $95.

The WWE previously held an event in March at the facility. This is a rare two appearances at the small arena on tour. In years past, the WWE would just appear once in Trenton.

WWE Live
WWE Live

Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, and Randy Orton also competed in the March show. Both Ambrose and Reigns fought as members of the now-defunct faction “The Shield” before Seth Rollins turned his back on them.

Ambrose is reportedly filming an upcoming film, “Lockdown,” following a TV segment, where he was “injured.” Rollins hit his Curb Stomp on Ambrose while his head was being held on bricks by Kane. Then, WWE officials said days later, that they were not able to release his exact injuries.

Ambrose is slated to return on September 22nd at Monday Night RAW in Memphis, Tennessee, the night after “Night of Champions” in Nashville, Tennessee.

At the moment, Rollins is not expected to appear, but things can always change, even hours before a show. With that, Ambrose may fight another competitor for the evening.

With both Jack Swagger and Rusev slated to appear, the on-going battle between the two could continue in Trenton. This is Rusev’s first trip to Trenton following appearances in Wildwood and Atlantic City this year.

Another on-going battle could take place in the State Capital when Roman Reigns battles Randy Orton. The two superstars have been fighting each other since before SummerSlam.

The Authority’s Kane is also expected to appear. Stardust and Goldust are the only tag team, at the moment, slated to appear.

In March, WWE Live had two tag team matches at the arena, a divas match and a six-man tag match. The now dysfunctional The Bella twins defeated Alicia Fox and Asksana.

Two matches later, The Shield defeated The Wyatt family in a very good match. Reigns hit his Superman punch on Luke Harper, then speared him for the win.

WWE Live show returns to Atlantic City on September 27th at Boardwalk Hall

In a little over a month, the World Wrestling Entertainment will return to New Jersey. This event will take place at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City on Saturday, September 27th, at 7:30 pm.

This will be WWE’s first appearance back to the facility since March 22nd. From that event, only The Big Show and Roman Reigns are slated to appear at this show, but things are always subject to change.

WWE Live

On March 22nd, the Big Show defeated Christian in the fifth match. Before Daniel Bryan faced Kane in a steel cage match in the final match, The Shield defeated the Wyatt Family.

Since that time, The Shield has disbanded, as they are all competing in single’s competition now. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Randy Orton and Roman Reigns continue their rivalry in Atlantic City.

Tomorrow night, the two superstars will face each other at “The Biggest Event of the Summer” SummerSlam at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

The last time Orton and Reigns competed in a match was a “dark” 6-man tag team match on August 4th, 2014 after WWE Monday Night Raw went off the air. Dean Ambrose, Reigns, and The Big Show defeated Bray Wyatt, Orton, and Seth Rollins.

Several other SummerSlam battles could also take place in Atlantic City, as well. Both The Miz and Dolph Ziggler are expected to be present at this WWE Live show.

These two guys will be fighting it out for the Intercontinental Championship. The Miz won a Battle Royal that included Ziggler and 17 other competitors at WWE Battleground Pay-Per-View on July 20th.

Jack Swagger and Rusev are also slated to appear in New Jersey’s gambling capital. Both Swagger and Rusev will compete in a Flag Match at SummerSlam with the winner getting to raise the flags.

Swagger has been promoting the United States through the “Real American” gimmick. Rusev, who is the first Bulgarian wrestlers in WWE, is putting the Russian flag on the line, as he is billed from Moscow, Russia, yet lives in Tampa, Florida.

WWE hasn’t released the other superstars that are expected to appear. Expect around eight matches in this WWE Live card.

Barrett was injured when he was wrestling with Jack Swagger, another opponent in the Money in the Bank Ladder match.

“[Barrett] sustained an injury to his right shoulder when he was thrown into the barricade by Jack Swagger,” WWE physician Dr. Chris Amman said.

“After Barrett felt an immediate pain and a pop,” continued Amann, “we brought him back to the training room and the exam showed a separated shoulder. We’re going to do some additional testing this week and then sit down with him and talk about options for treatment for this injury.”
