Roman Reigns is the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion

Roman Reigns is the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion after he defeated Sheamus on Monday Night Raw at the Wells Fargo Center in South Philadelphia. This title reign will be longer than his previous one.

Sheamus took his belt from him five minutes and 15 seconds after he won the belt at the Survivor Series pay-per-view. Nobody interfered at the end of the show, this time around, so he’ll have the belt heading into Smackdown taping from the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. on Tuesday evening.

It looked like Reigns was going to lose again – and everyone was against him and be “fired” by the company as the stipulation – yet like he’s done, he’s continued to hammer through even with all the odds against him. He needed a spear to Sheamus, who was looking to go for a Brogue kick, but Reigns him him with the spear first, before the 1-2-3 for the win.

There were months that it was going to be another WWE screw job, as it was a 4-on-1 fight. Alberto Del Rio and Rusev interfered when the Chairman of the Board Vince McMahon was talking to the referee with his back blinded from what was going on at the other side of the ring.

As McMahon was doing that, Reigns superman punched Rusev, Sheamus, then McMahon, before Sheamus got up and attacked Reigns again. He would then follow with a two-count.

After this, Rusev, Del Rio and McMahon would not interfere in the final seconds of the match. It would just be a one-on-one fight from there until the Roman Empire won the belt for the second time.

Early on in the match, Reigns hit Sheamus with a superman punch, who then went for the pin. With a two-count, McMahon pulled the referee out of the ring – and he was holding onto his shirt, before being allowed to re-enter the match.

Back in January at this same facility, Reigns won the Royal Rumble giving him a shot at then-WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania. At the biggest event of the year, Seth Rollins would cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase, before winning the belt at WrestleMania.

Thanks to a Rollins injury last month, Reigns would get another shot at winning the belt, which would lead to the Survivor Series title shot against Dean Ambrose, before Sheamus cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase.

PrimeTime Players shock The Ascension, who lost for the first time in the WWE

By Anthony Caruso III on Feb. 23rd, 2015 at 9:03 PM EST

The Ascension has called themselves the greatest tag team ever. While they have been undefeated for a little over a month, that streak is finally over.

The 34-year-old face-painted tag team has lost for the first time in their WWE main roster careers. They lost to the PrimeTime Players, who reunited for the first time in months.

Darren Young picked up the pinball over The Ascension team member. Seconds later, the losing team decided that they were not going to leave the ring with honor following the surprising loss.

Instead, they decided to attack both Titus O’Neil and Young. O’Neil was attacked first, before he went out of the ring.

Next, they turned their attend to Young, who they hit waste land on. That was before WWE went to a commercial.

Just last week, Young defeated O’Neil at WWE Live – Road to WrestleMania shows. However, the two haven’t been a tag team since Jan. 28th, 2014 at a WWE Smackdown! taping.
At that show, Curtis Axel and Ryback defeated Young and O’Neil.

Smackdown! taping returns to the Wells Fargo Center on October 7th

On October 7th, the World Wrestling Entertainment returns to the Wells Fargo Center in South Philadelphia. The wrestling fans in attendance will get to see the Smackdown! Taping, before it airs on Syfy on Thursday night, October 9th.

This is the third time that WWE has hosted an event at the Wells Fargo Center this year. They previously held a WWE Live event on June 22nd and a Smackdown! Taping on January 7th.

Many of the popular superstars are expected to appear, including John Cena. The 15-time champion may not get his hands on Brock Lesnar at this show since the new champion has a limited appearance schedule.

Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, and Seth Rollins are also expected to appear, according to WWE.com. Ambrose could continue his storyline with Rollins once he returns to television.

Bray Wyatt will be making his third visit to Philadelphia this year, like Cena. In June, Cena and Wyatt fought in a Philadelphia Street Fight, before Cena won when he hit the Attitude Adjustment on Wyatt through a table.

With Wyatt appearing, Erick Rowan and Luke Harper could be competing, as well. If these two giants appear, they will be looking for their first win in Philadelphia in 2014.

In June, Harper and Rowan lost in a Fatal Fourway, also including now fired Alberto Del Rio and Dolph Ziggler with Ziggler winning the match. In January, Harper and Rowan opened the Smackdown! Taping, before being involved in a double count out with The Usos.

The Usos also beat Harper and Rowan in a tag team match in the third-to-last match in June.

Since their last two shows in the area, the company has seen some changes in their superstars roster. Several superstars who competed in January and June are no longer with the company, or injured.

Bad News Barrett is currently recovering from an injury, and Ryback is taking a break from competing. Former Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) superstar and Philadelphia fan favorite Rob Van Dam reportedly is taking a break, while other media outlets are reporting that he will leave the company once his contract expires.

Santino Marella announced his retirement due to injury, but is still working for the company. Divas competitor Emma, who was arrested this past June, hasn’t appeared on Smackdown or Monday Night Raw since the incident in Hartford, Connecticut on June 30th. This past July, C.M. Punk left the company, and announced that he “would never ever wrestle again.”

Rey Mysterio hasn’t competed in months, and is trying to get out of his contract to compete with Asistencia Asesoría y Administración. Del Rio, who was mentioned earlier, is also competing for AAA, after a backstage incident that led to his firing by the company.

Diva Kaitlyn left the company the day after Smackdown back in January. Instead of being fired, or released by the company, she left on her own terms to follow business ventures that she couldn’t do as a competitor.

Barrett was injured when he was wrestling with Jack Swagger, another opponent in the Money in the Bank Ladder match.

“[Barrett] sustained an injury to his right shoulder when he was thrown into the barricade by Jack Swagger,” WWE physician Dr. Chris Amman said.

“After Barrett felt an immediate pain and a pop,” continued Amann, “we brought him back to the training room and the exam showed a separated shoulder. We’re going to do some additional testing this week and then sit down with him and talk about options for treatment for this injury.”

In her final match, Kaitlyn faced WWE Women’s Diva Champion AJ Lee in the final match of the Main Event taping, which is expected to air tonight on ION TV from 8 to 9 pm. Lee defeated Kaitlin on a roll up.

After the match, Kaitlyn and AJ Lee hug after AJ Lee jumps on Kaitlyn. Then, seconds later, Tamina Snuka, the daughter of WWE legend Jimmy Snuka kicks Kaitlyn in the face.

Celeste Bonin, her real name, has been apart of the WWE since 2010. She worked her away up from the WWE Development Programs in Florida Championship Wrestling and WWE NEXT.

She would make her WWE debut on December 16th, 2012 at the WWE TLC – Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Pay-Per-View. She has appeared in a 167 matches, including 9 Pay-Per-Views with the company.

Spoilers: WWE Smackdown taping in Philadelphia

The World Wrestling Entertainment‘s Smackdown returned to the Wells Fargo Center last night.

It is the first time in over a year that the WWE Smackdown taping returned to the City of Brotherly Love. Last year, the WWE had three shows in Philadelphia, including the July Pay-Per-View and two live weekend shows.

This WWE Smackdown taping will air this Friday on the SyFy channel. The show will go from 8 pm to 10 pm.

And if you are interested in watching the entire show, it would be best to not read the rest of these article. But if you would like to find out the spoiler action, then continue reading.

In the main event, it was C.M. Punk and the New Age Outlaws (“The Road Dogg” Jesse James and Billy Gunn) against The Shield (featuring Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns). It was the second straight night that these factions fought each other, as the Shield got into a fight with Punk and the New Age Outlaws to end Monday Night RAW. After they fought, Ambrose would be knocked to the ground, before WWE legend Jake “The Snake” Roberts brought out his new snake and put it on Ambrose’s face.

In this match, the Shield would defeat C.M. Punk and the New Agent Outlaws, as Reigns hit the spear on Gunn for the win. Reigns is the lone Shield member to beat Punk. After the match, The Shield left for the exits.

In the Dark Main Event, it was John Cena against Randy Orton, who was competing in his second match of the game. Before the match, Cena said that Orton is not willing to fight him, as Cena said Orton was turned off by the respect he received by the Philadelphia fans.

Cena would go as far to mention the jail at Veterans Stadium, the stadium before Lincoln Financial Field. The crowd would go nuts and then it would drive Orton to come out.

Cena would chase Orton back into the ring for the fight to start after Orton called Philadelphia a “crap town.” The two wrestlers would fight, like it was a Pay-Per-View match.

In the middle of the match, the referee would get knocked down, seconds after Cena made Orton tap. Orton tapped out, but with no referee to see the tap out, the match continued.

After Orton got up, he would go after one of his WWE World Heavyweight Championship belt, then hit Cena in the face with it. With the referee waking up before the count, Cena would kick out after a two count. He would also kick out of an RKO with a two count, before Orton ended the match with a low blow for the disqualification.

Xavier Woods would quickly defeat Fandango with Summer Rae less than several minutes into the fourth match. Woods used a quick roll-up to defeat Fandango.

After the match, Summer Rae would be attacked by Funkadactyl‘s Naomi and Cameron.  This led to Fandango and Woods fighting once before, before Woods and R-Truth knock Fandango out of the ring.

Dual World Heavyweight Champion and the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton would face Intercontinental Champion Big E Langston in the third match. This was a non title match, as each wrestler would hold onto their belts.

Orton and Big E. Langston would have a very solid match, before Orton would put an end to the match with an RKO.

In the second match, there was an 8-man tag team match. Rey Mysterio, Sin Cara and Los Matadores, formerly Diego/Primo and Fernando/Epico, would face The Real Americans (Antonio Cesaro and Jack Swagger), Curtis Axel and Ryback.

One would think that Mysterio, Sin Cara, and Los Matadores would be at a disadvantage with the height and strength on the other team. Yet, Mysterio would pin Swagger after hitting the 619 on him and a splash from the top rope for the win.

Before the 8-man tag team match, The Miz would host his popular MizTV episode. His guest on the episode would be The Big Show, who talked about talking Brock Lesnar across the ring on Old School Monday Night RAW from Baltimore, Maryland.

On the episode, The Big Show tells the Miz, “There’s only so much a man can take. I’m not here to sell you girl scout cookies. I don’t like Brock Lesner. I was happy that he left, and don’t like it much that he’s back.”

After that, Paul Heyman‘s music hit, before going out with a mic. He would accept The Big Show’s challenge for Royal Rumble on behalf of Lesnar.

The Usos brothers would open the Smackdown taping facing Luke Harper and Erick Rowan of The Wyatt Family. This match would end in a double count out, before the lights went out and Bray Wyatt and Daniel Bryan attacked the Usos, as they were stopped on the ramp.

As Bryan made his only appearance in the ring, the crowd would make his popular Yes! Yes! Yes! chants. But they would quickly stop, as they disapprove of Bryan’s heel to join The Wyatt Family.

The Wyatt Family would hit several moves on each Uso brother. Yet, Bray Wyatt hit the Sister Abigail on one of the Uso brothers.
